🧵Some Textile Know-how

🟡 Blended Bangalore Silks Vs Art Silk

Our 3-ply blended Bangalore silks are NOT Art Silk.
Art Silk is fully synthetic (usually rayon/viscose/polyester) and has a slippery, overly shiny finish.

In contrast, our Blended Bangalore Silks are crafted using real silk mixed with natural fibers, giving them:
✨ A rich, natural sheen (not synthetic shine)
🪶 A soft, fluid fall
🧵 Greater strength and durability
💃 A premium drape suitable for sarees and heavy embroidery

These blends offer the elegance of silk with added comfort and wearability — far superior to Art Silk in feel, breathability, and longevity.

🟣 Mashru Benarasi Silk

A semi-handloom weave created with 70% silk + 30% fiber, combining satin smoothness with Benarasi heritage. It carries 🌟 classic motifs, 💨 better breathability than pure Benarasi, and 👗 a graceful drape ideal for festive and traditional wear.

🟢 Cotton–Silk Blends (80:20)

Many Rangkat sarees use 80% cotton + 20% silk, making them 🧶 soft, 🫧 breathable, 🌸 lightweight, and subtly glossy. A perfect textile for daily wear, office looks, and semi-formal outings where comfort meets elegance.

🔵 Kota Doria vs Pure Kota Cotton

If the title says just Kota Doria: It’s woven with 80% cotton + 20% viscose, giving a 🌟 gentle gloss, 🪶 feather-light feel, and 🧺 easy care—great for everyday use.
If the title says Pure Kota Cotton: It’s 100% cotton, with a 🧱 crisp, matte texture that 📌 needs regular starching to keep its structure.
✨ Tip: Pure Kota feels drier and firmer, while Kota Doria is smoother with a mild shine.

🧠 Important Textile Know-How

Understanding fiber composition helps set correct expectations. Natural fabrics like cotton, silk, and handwoven blends behave differently in fall, sheen, weight, and maintenance. 🌿 Slight stiffness, softness, or variations in texture and color come from the fiber mix and weaving style. 🎨 Every weave reacts uniquely to light, wash, and handling, making each piece special and true to its craft tradition.
